When you first start working out, you should never try to use large weights. Which ever field we are in, we also seem to try and do something impressive. Especially at the gym with the guys who have giant biceps and the good looking girl is walking by, you try to use big weights to make yourself not look bad. However, you mind as well call 911 because you are more likely to end up in the hospital.

The truth is, the guys you see with huge arms have been workout for years and years, everyday. You can too look like that if you put the effort into it. You have to stick to the routine of going to the gym everyday. Now, you do not workout the same muscles everyday, you split it up the workouts throughout the week.

When you start the routine of going to the gym or even working out at home, you should always you small weights first. Using large weights can lead to many serious injuries. There is a such thing as too much, too soon when it comes to building muscle. At first, you should use small weights and slowly increase the weight once you feel you can complete another set of reps with a larger weight.

Try this…

Perform each exercise in 3 sets of 10-12 reps. This means, you perform the workout/exercise 10-12 times or reps, then take a short rest for about 30-60 sec, then perform the workout 10-12 more reps, then break, then for the third and final time for the exercise.

Increase the weight by about 5lbs. each set if the previous set was too easy.

The most important thing to remember is to not overwork your muscles, gradually increase the weight to your comfort.
