I’ve heard it all before, and I’m sure you’ve heard it at least once before too that the morning is the best time to exercise. The truth is many factors can influence the effectiveness (big or small) of your exercises toward your weight loss or muscle building goal, especially when you exercise. The morning is the absolute best time to get you daily exercise in, even if it’s just for a very short time.
Interesting Statistic – 90% of people who exercise on a daily/regular basis, exercise in the morning.
Why is Morning the Best Time to Exercise?
Reason #1 – The reason is mostly targeted for those who are just beginning to add exercise into their daily routines. I know for me, I always used to put off exercising until later in the day, but then one thing led to another and I never got in my exercise. By performing your exercises in the morning, you’re getting the exercise you need done right away. Waiting can cause you to never do it. Plus, it’s a great motivator and energy boaster for the day.
Make You Feel Like You Are Ready to Conquer the Day!
Reason #2 – The second reason morning is the best time to exercise has to do with your body, not your mind like the first reason was. By exercising in the morning, you kick-start your metabolism. Increasing your metabolism in the morning by exercising can allow it to run for nearly the full day. This will cause you to burn more calories that entire day, then if you exercised later in the day. Pretty neat, eh?
Reason #3 – The third reasons is all about tricking your body. When you exercise in the morning, regularly, your body will get used to it. When you do this repeatedly, your body will learn your daily routine and that you when you wake up, it knows you’re going to be exercising. Therefore, your body will be preparing itself right before you wake up. Your body will be alerted and it will be much easier to get up in the morning. Besides the health benefit of exercising in the morning, if you’re having trouble waking up in the morning, start exercising in the morning. Your body will have it’s own alarm system.
In conclusion, for best results of your weight loss or workout program, it’s best to perform your exercises in the morning or at the start of your day.
